This project aims to provide learners with an opportunity to apply their cybersecurity knowledge by conducting a comprehensive security audit. The team will assess current systems to identify vulnerabilities such as access controls, data storage, and software patching. They will map out potential risks and strategize improvements to bolster the company's cybersecurity framework. The project will also involve drafting and implementing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in critical areas like incident response, password management, data privacy, and secure communication. By engaging in this project, learners will gain practical experience in cybersecurity assessment and policy development, contributing to La Connexional's goal of achieving a robust security posture.
The project will culminate in several key deliverables. Learners will produce a detailed security assessment report outlining identified vulnerabilities and risks. They will create a prioritized action plan to address these issues and draft updated SOPs for various cybersecurity areas. Additionally, the team will develop a guideline for ongoing monitoring and compliance to ensure sustained security improvements. These deliverables will provide La Connexional with a clear roadmap to enhance its cybersecurity measures effectively.

About the company
La Connexional’s mission is to promote development, and growth, social integration, social inclusion and multicultural understanding between African, Caribbean, Latinx and Canadian communities, by being a source of historical and cultural education, and multicultural, networking, and entrepreneurial events. La Connexional uses social innovation, entrepreneurship, and collective collaborations to build vibrant communities and create positive generational impact that starts with communities of the African and Latinex diaspora, and then reverberates out to the communities they inhabit across Canada. Throughout the years, La Connexional has (directly and indirectly) contributed over 60K in the African, Black, Caribbean and Latine communities. In 2018, we held the first ever Afro Latin Festival in Canada (which has grown from 150 attendees to 800 in 3 years). Many of our experiences being bilingual & economically accessible.
