Beginning early February, graduate students from UGA"s Terry School of Business will work in groups of 5 to 6 students on projects that involve the eventual implementation of an information systems application that will add value for your organization. The project should include elements of the following:

○ Utilizes a backend database to support the application

○ Middleware components built by the students that are hosted in the Cloud

○ Client-side user interface - as a desktop, web, or mobile application

Project examples

Based on your organizations goals, students will apply skills to build software and embedded systems to achieve your goals.

Students will work with you to:

  • Develop requirements, user stories and customer archetypes for your project.
  • Analysis of business scenario and recommendations for potential solutions
  • Develop prototypes and solicit feedback from you and your users
  • Iterate and refine designs to meet your needs.

Example projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Frontend and back-end website development or adding features to an existing product
  • Application software development
  • Mobile Apps for Android or iOS

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

  • Q1 - Checkbox
    Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
  • Q2 - Checkbox
    Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions within 1 business day, and to meet with the team for approximately 1 hour every 2 weeks (at least).
  • Q3 - Checkbox
    Provide any specialized resources (software, services, hardware) that are needed to complete the project
  • Q4 - Checkbox
    Attend final capstone showcase (In-person or virtual).
  • Q5 - Checkbox
    If Intellectual property is a concern, provide an IP waiver and/or NDA agreement for the students to sign.
